Hi Lisa,
i applied for my oxygen machine through air liquide here is the link so you can have a look
http://www.airliquide.com.au/en/contact-us.html
.they are australia wide
it makes the o2 for you no tanks, just the machine that plugs in to the power. You can also buy your own instead of hiring it, about $3000.00 th emachine i hired is bulky but is on wheels.
Just letting you know a tank and mask is not your only option.
My package comes with cannula and cords and connectors each 3 months.
If you have a health care card and a good gp and neuro you will be fine, but be quick the govt is bringing changes that may hinder things.
I had to have a neurologists report to get my concentrater as the rules are quite strict now. You have to
have a diagnosis from them and to get that you need a gp referral to the neuro. You then fill out the o2 companies forms and they process it.Mine is done through MASS Medical aids subsidy scheme and it costs me just the electricity and i had to include the machine on my contents. MASS pays also an electricity rebate currently $173.00 per quarter to help cover electricity costs.
I use Immigran now as of last week and its given me freedom again as i cannot get portable o2 yet..
its a spray for migrain and cluster headache relief but not a preventatve. It is on the pbs it costs me $6.10 with health care card and on pbs its $19.50 but it only has 2 treatments so i get 2 ahead which the chemist allows me. Tat way i hve four then when i get to 2 i get a repeatm staying ahead.
You poor thing i did not realise you could get so many!!! My worst is a three dayer that died down once night but came back with a vengeance i cant imagine so many so long!!!
Go see your gp to get the ball rolling.
I do know a doctors letter is no longer ll you need.
