Hi All,

Have been taking Deseril (methysergide) for quite a few years, got a prescription today and I am struggling to find a Chemist that has it in stock, or has a supplier with it in stock.

Has it been discontinued in Australia? It looks like it is getting discontinued elsewhere or already has been, so I guess fair chance it is here too.

Not sure where to go for a preventative now.

G'day Chris- long time between posts.
yes, it's mostly discontinued, but if you're lucky you might find a dispensing Chemist to fill your prescription for you. (they're the ones that actually make your medication, not just grab a packet off the shelf.) I don't have a list, but they are out there somewhere.
Apart from that, maybe your doctor can suggest something similar? Good luck to you.

Hi Chris,

I'm not sure where Maidstone is located, but a company called LINK in Warriewood, Sydney, NSW has got some supplies of Deseril 1mg, they are due to go out of date but have been approved for distribution and sale. If you can get your local pharmacy to contact them you might be in luck and get some.
I too am on Deseril at the moment, I am due to come off them as I have been on it for 6 months now and need a break from it for a month. Not sure what i'm going to do after that.

Good luck in locating some.
