Hi I am new here and so happy to find other ch people. I have suffered ch for 33yrs now. Some years worse than others, but as I have got older they are less. I have just started a new ch cycle and decided o will see a headache clinic. I am in Melbourne, Australia.
If anyone has any advice about any clinics that they think are worthwhile please let me know. Much appreciated. I have found a couple that I will look into today.
Thank you for accepting me and I hope to gain some valuable insight to these horrible ch.
Cheers Blakbat.

Hi all, my first time on here.

I am a 52 year old dude who is currently on day 45 of this years battle with the pain demons that invade my head and attempt to pop my eye out from the inside.....but I am glad to have found somewhere to talk to people that truly understand just how fkn intense this pain is
I am so tired right now but don't want to sleep because that will let the demon inside my skull to start the attack all over again, and again and again....
I had my first attack when I was 14 or 15 and had an attack of these headaches every year since. That was until 2013 when after almost ending them and me for good I tried botox....3 days later they stopped and I was pain free for almost 5 years. I had one attack in Feb last year got injection with Botox and gone for another year but this time.....the botox has provided very little if any relief and here I am on day 45

Hi Naisy,
I can't imagine day 45, I was going mad after day 30! I just had my first cluster this year and was wondering what the heck was wrong. I get migraines, but these are completely different. My eye felt like it was going to explode all the time. The last few days I've had the sore eye but not the headache to go with it.
Its nice to be somewhere with people who get it. It seems not a lot of people know how terrible these headaches are.

Hey Blakbat thanks for the reply.

I'm lying in bed as i type this....been here since yesterday arvo.

The pattern seems to have changed and I'm getting rolling headaches where I have one for a few hours then it stops for a few hours but i still have that pressure and pain behind my eye and in my temple just not as acute then I feel the throbbing increase rapidly and within minutes it's back to that suicidal level of pain.

I want to go to a doctor but the disappointment of them not being able to help is too much to cope with so I just tell myself that they must stop soon and today will be my last headache but atm I know its not. I get a feeling inside my head when they have stopped and I dont have that no pressure sensation of a clear head.

The only thing that has ever helped me was botox and it gave me nearly 5 years of remission but this time it hasnt so I am pretty fucked up atm

Hey Naisy,

Life's been pretty busy here!

Have you tried Maxil wafers? That's what my doctor has put me on and its a great help for me.

I hope today is better day than when you last replied. Its awful when the day is just spent in bed, but sometimes its the best place to be when everything hurts so much.

Hey BlackKat good to hear from you.

How are you travelling man? Hanging in there?

I have had some pretty miserable days and nights since messaging you but....fingers crossed I have just strung 2 days and nights together relatively pain free. Free enough to sleep all night so I am hoping like fuck this might mean a break in the cycle and they are going away....well for now.

I will quiz my doc' about Maxil Wafer's and try some....are they preventative or to help cope with the pain during an attack?

Hi Naisy,

Yay! Finally two days relief! Its amazing the difference a really good sleep can make. I've got my fingers crossed that this is last one for you for a while. Unfortunately it seems that once these things start, you can't switch them off.

I'm going well, no attacks at the moment. I have other painful conditions going on and they have being keeping me very busy with painful days lately.

Maxim Wafers are a for when an attack comes on. You take it as soon as the pain starts. If it doesn't kick it completely, you can take another one 3 hours later. That's the most you can take in 24 hours. I've never had to take a second one yet, so I think they work quite well. The doctor is keen for me to start identifying my triggers - I'm not sure if you've tried that?

I hope today is another pain free day for you. smile
