I have been getting CH for 20 odd years‚ and havent experienced this until the last 2 days.
During the attack‚ my headaches are always on the left side of my head.
The last 3 headaches‚ at the peak of distress‚ I have got a shooting pain across my head to my right eye. It is very quick(0.2sec)and i get 1 or 2 of these. After this‚ the headache seems to taper of.
Does anyone else experience this symptom?

Hi‚
I think I have had that once. It caught me by surprise too‚ being the other side. I've had them in both sides‚ but always just the one side per bout.

What I have noticed is that just before they start to go‚ they reach a peak‚ with several really sharp pains‚ like a final effort to torture me the best it can before it dies. They do change each time though‚ for me anyway.

I have always had right side CH's‚ except for about 2 or 3 ever on the left side. From what I remember they were far worse when they happened than the RHS. I have never had them shift from side to side though during a CH attack.

Mine are always LHS but I do get the same shooting pain probably 4 or 5 times during each attack.

Hi‚

I occasionally get tinnitus but have since I was a child. Same with the RLS. but they have never changed and the tinnitus only lasts about 20 seconds at a time‚ maybe once per month. My heart rate has never gone up though. that's pretty high‚ I'd be letting the GP know about that. might it be some medication causing the increased heart rate?

Currently suffering :(
My symptoms have always been behind the right eye through to the back of my head but only the right side‚ down the side of my face often gets creamed as well but thankfully to date it's never had a go at the left side.

Same here but vice versa. What I was trying to say was the headache was on the left side‚ and only the 2-3 icepick stabs of pain shot over to my right eye.

Hi people

I’m chronic & get the icepick jabs daily but they never seem to bother when I’m in a full swing bout.
I’ve always been a lefty except for a hard earned hangover.icon

Its funny how this beast treats us all differently I get tinnitus & have had it since just before I got CH‚ for me it’s a good indication that I am going to have a reasonably good day ( if the tinnitus goes there’s a good chance I will shadow heavy & possibly get hit.

Roger I saw when I registered your remark about RLS & your thought that it & CH are related; yes they certainly are‚ as is Exploding head syndrome‚ I had all three at one stage & they gave me a fair beating‚ they are all related to having a dodgy hypothalamus‚ somewhere I have links to the info & when I find it I will post it here.

Cheers
Barry

Thanks Barry‚ yeah‚ there certainly does seem to be a higher incidence of CH sufferers with RLS than the general population. I look forward to the info when you find it.
