Dear Cluster-Headaches People,

I’ve had one single incessant headache for over 6 years now which has turned out to be a unique and very frustrating mystery. I’m desperately seeking answers/relief and I am curious if any of you may have experienced or encountered this headache type before. And if so, has anyone found a cause and/or a cure?

Since 2 May 2011 I’ve had not 1 second of relief from this pain. On that particular evening, I fell and hit my head on the lid of an upright Gatorade bottle. I apparently hit it quite hard, but not overly so – I’d been head-hit much harder before.
(Case in point: I was knocked briefly unconscious by a falling flag pole on Daydream Island in 1997).

I hit the bottle-lid just to the right of the centre of my forehead. It came up in quite a lump. I wasn’t feeling too great the following morning, but in my stubborn state (training for a marathon), and in my ignorance of a possible concussion, I went for a 6-kilometre time-trial road-run. EVERY SINGLE STEP felt like my brain was bouncing up and down, loose, in my head.

And the pain hasn’t stopped ever since.

My symptoms present as follows:

• Heavy, dull constant head pain (non-stop)
• Intense heat in the head, especially in the face (non-stop)
• Squeezing pressure sensation, whole head (non-stop)
• Acute ‘icepick’ & other strange headaches (occur sporadically)
• Tinnitus
• Cracking noises inside face/sinuses
• Facial skull pain

I have visited 5 hospitals, 10 doctors and 45 referred specialists, all with no answers.

If so, do any of you know a remedy for this type of injury/headache?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read/consider my case.
