Aborted with O2

Wednesday 27 February, 2013: 09:05am - 10:00am

7

Couldn't get O2 quick enough to abort attack, when i did get O2 at spp they didn't have the right mask and could only give me 10L/min so treatment was less effective. went to GP to get some Relpax as this worked last cycle.

Sunday 24 February, 2013: 11:15am - 11:45am

2

Still no O2 left until monday. Took 1 cafergot at the first sign of a shadow, got no worse than a normal headache and then disappeared. Successfully aborted without O2! Joy!

Sunday 24 February, 2013: 05:15am - 06:30am

7

Woke up with a level 6, treated with O2 but only had 15mins worth of O2 left in the cylinder. Went down to a shadow but as soon as O2 ran out it quickly got worse. Took 1 cafergot, as that is all the medication i have left, and was driven to the emergency ward at POWH. On the drive there it reached 7. Treated with O2 and gone within 15mins. Cafergot must have helped the situation as O2 would usually take longer to treat a level 7. Odd because i stopped using cafergot 2 cycles ago. It worked for a few CH's and then stopped working. I tried it again once last cycle and it didn't work. Looks like it is working again. Go figure...?

Friday 22 February, 2013: 10:45am - 11:15am

2

Aborted with O2 but it took longer than i thought it would. I think this has to do with the O2 tank i am using and the mask...

Friday 22 February, 2013: 08:40am - 09:15am

4

Fell asleep after the last CH, woke up with this CH at 8:45am already at a level 4. Used O2 as usual but i made the mistake of stopping it at 9:00am while i still had a faint shadow. The CH came back within 2 or so minutes back to a level 3. Used the O2 properly this time by squeezing the bag and breathing deeply (hyperventilation style) and the CH disappeared completely by 9:15am. Lesson, don't stop O2 until the CH is completely gone and squeeze the bag to get maximum O2 into lungs. I should feel light headed if i am doing it right...

Tuesday 01 November, 2011: 12:00pm - 12:00pm

1

Not sure the exact date and time. Used the "busting" method. Took the first dose which did not stop the attacks, took the second dose 5 days later and didn't have another attack after that. Not sure if it was the treatment that stopped it or just the natural end of the cycle as i had been in the cycle for quite some time.
NOTE: there was no remission between the dates below i was just bad at keeping a diary. Not sure exactly when this cycle ended.
